India’s 18th Lok Sabha Elections delivered another good win to BJP led NDA though I.N.D.I.A alliance marched ahead with better performance
Certainly, Indian PM Modi’s appeal for 400 seats majority did not do any wonders. The Beautiful credit to the account of BJP is BJP will be part of ruling for 3rd successive term, a great achievement. This record is never broken earlier since 1962.
Top leadership of BJP could breathe comfortably, thanks to fair weather allies Mr Chandra Babu Naidu of TDP, and Mr Nitish Kumar of JDU Party, as of now, though “Samajwadi Party led by Mr Akhilesh Yadav from Uttara Pradesh destroyed Modi’s Vision of at least 350 plus seats.” Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu, Ex CM of Andhra Pradesh and Mr Nitish Kumar, CM of Bihar are expected to support BJP as part of original plans of NDA.
The General Elections 2024, are akin to the blessings in disguise to major national parties. BJP ‘s not so bad performance (240 seats alone) is matchable with tremendous recovery of I.N.D.I.A ‘s allies (233 seats).
This is the first time the nation saw breaks to super speed growth of PM Modi’s leadership. Mr Rahul Gandhi, the son of late Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, managed resistance to BJP’s evergreen growth with Samajwadi, DMK, others as good allies. Though the seats gained by Indian National Congress is just 99, Mr Rahul Gandhi and his allies can still survive for another five years and also pose threat to the supremacy of BJP. The BJP needs to ensure the governance power should not shift to I.N.D.I.A’s alliance, if it wants complete closure of Congress’s prospects of ruling.
Odisha Unit of BJP contributed 20 Lok Sabha seats out of total 21 seats to the main score of 240 BJP seats with historical win over BJD party. BJD Party ruled Odisha for 24 years. It conceded defeat in the simultaneous assembly elections to the BJP. BJP’s winning tally of 78 Vs BJD’s 51 assembly seats is an outstanding victory. BJP Cadre credits this big success to PM Modi’s charisma and credibility as global leader. Twin and stellar performance, both at assembly and parliamentary elections helped BJP to bounce back strongly.
There is another silent hero who played a key role in forth coming new central government. TDP’s big role in new NDA governance coincides with the strategic initiatives taken by the founder of Jana Sena Party, Mr. Pavan Kalyan from Andhra Pradesh. Current ruling party of Andhra Pradesh led by the chief minister Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSR Party is completely routed out with a meagre win in Andhra Pradesh 2024 May Elections. Andhra Pradesh was ready to witness a multi parties war in 2024 assembly and parliamentary elections. Mr. Pawan Kalyan, unconditionally offered alliance support to Mr Chandra Babu Naidu of TDP and also roped in reluctant Modi for electoral fight against YSR party. 3 party alliance fought under Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu leadership at state level in AP. Mr. Pawan Kalyan party might have scored just 2 wins and 21 wins in Lok Sabha and assembly elections respectfully. Had Mr Pawan Kalyan not showed this wise thinking, TDP’s supremo would have found a king maker’s role for him nearly impossible amidst lot of political dramas at state level in AP.
In turn, BJP would have faced bigger hardships in staking claim before the president for power.
Of course, Ex Chief Minister, Mr Chandra Babu Naidu was pragmatic enough to welcome such winning combination though relations between Mr Modi and Mr Naidu are not so friendly earlier. Mr Modi refused to grant special category status to the new divided state of Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar also might find good gains in this coalition as he joined back to NDA well before elections. It is unlikely he will give sleepless nights to BJP’s top brass about his frequent jumping between parties. As this review notes are prepared, NDA leaders met and confirmed their support to NDA GOVERNMENT formation under Modi 3.0. The meeting took place at PM residence at Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi.
