Kal Bhairav is popular here by the name of ” Shri Kapal Bhairav” . The connected pond in the video is named ” Kapal Mochan Teerth”. As per the mythology, Lord Shiva punishes Lord Brahma. Lord Shiva drew out a thin hair and energies it into manifestation of divine person. This manifested person with awesome divine energy, namely Kal Bhairav, cuts off one of the five heads of Lord Brahma as he insults MAHADEV SHIV.
This event leads partly to the crime of killing/punishing of Brahma. Consequently, Kal Bhairav wanders all around in the world with detached head of Brahma. In spite of his best-efforts Kal Bhairav could not throw away this head and automatically the head clings to his body He finally enters the city of Kashi. As he reaches the point of this pond, The struck-off head drops off automatically once Kal Bhairav takes a dip in the holy, mystic lake.
Interestingly Lord Kapal Bhairav is worshipped in the form of “Shiv Ling”. There are eight bhairavs as divine icons surrounding him. Of course, Kali Mata is also worshipped here.
