DASA Honored StandardAero

Australian Military Aviation Authority Honors StandardAero for Commitment to Propulsion Systems Integrity with 2024 Mirage Award

The Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA), Australia’s Military Aviation Authority, has honored StandardAero with the 2024 Mirage Award at the annual Australian Defence Force Propulsion Systems Symposium recently held in Melbourne, Australia.

The Mirage Award acknowledges commitment to the Propulsion Systems Integrity (PSI) of the C-130J and C-27J Propulsion Systems, recognizing StandardAero’s C-130J Hercules / C-27J Spartan Propulsion team that demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment in the management of the Propulsion Structural Integrity Program across both Royal Australian Air Force fleets.  Accepting the prestigious 2024 Mirage Award on behalf of StandardAero were Matthew Bell, Jacob Berry, Marie Gebert and Marc Janz.

In relation to the award criteria, DASA noted StandardAero’s PSI management team’s professionalism in the handling of a Propeller Gearbox Shaft and Carrier Assembly (PSCA) cracking issue, helping to mitigate any further critical risks and alleviating additional operational delays.

“This type of recognition demonstrates the high degree of technical acumen StandardAero has to offer beyond our core Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) services.  I am extremely proud of what this team has achieved in support of Mission Readiness for the Royal Australian Air Force,” said Chad Flowers, VP/GM of StandardAero’s Defence Business Unit.

According to DASA, the systematic and impactful contributions of the StandardAero C-130J / C-27J Propulsion Systems Integrity Management team have not only upheld but also advanced the ADF’s standards of airworthiness and operational readiness.  StandardAero’s efforts reflect a profound understanding of PSI principles and regulatory compliance and reinforce their indispensable role in maintaining and enhancing the safety and capability of ADF Propulsion Systems.
